7-Days Of Healing: Day 5

Taking control of tomorrow feels pretty challenging right now because, tomorrow is Friday and we will be picking up our boys. I tend to aim for perfection on the weekends because I want the kids to have a memorable time together and with us. The hard part is, I have a pretty busy work day on Fridays and so does my husband. So, I guess this prompt comes in handy for days like that, where it seems overwhelming before it even begins.

The day I will have tomorrow will be full of laughter. Our kids are so silly and constantly coming up with the funniest stories, facts and jokes. I’m honestly looking forward to it so much. Having all 3 together always makes me inspired to create memories. Taking photos, doing crafts, seeing family etc. This weekend we are going to the movies and I can’t wait!

I just want our kids to reflect back on their childhood with excitement and gratitude. I do think tomorrow is calling me to the kitchen to get a good dinner ready for everyone after school. I don’t always get to do that during the work week, so when I do get the chance I like to embrace it as much as possible. Now, don’t get me twisted…. Ramen comes in handy on those days where adulting just ain’t it LOL!

My peak of gratitude will come from seeing my husband have all 3 of his kids together. It always does. Because he immediately carries himself differently and you can see the peace in his eyes. I think we can all relate to those moments of peace where we are just so grateful for the chance to reflect. It feels like that when I see him with our munchkins.

I am also feeling gratitude as I am wrapping up the work week because my job entails helping others. It is another week of showing up for those who need me to, and I am grateful for their trust in me. The exciting part though, is NOT HAVING PAPERWORK COMING INTO THIS WEEKEND! If you’re a clinician, you know EXACTLY what I mean. I get to wrap up the night with a relaxing evening with my family, preparing for a fun-filled weekend.

Funny, I feel myself becoming anxious and cold at the moment, but in a good way. I am a bit inpatient and wanting to begin our plans and just ready to be with my tribe you guys. And it is Mother’s Day this weekend, so I am simply counting my blessings.

This is a contrast from yesterday I must day. But this is exact kind of self-care my heart was asking me for yesterday. I get to take the time to realign with my purpose and take space to seek inspiration and be rejuvenated. I’m GRATEFUL!
